I'm Thankful O God for a Prophet !!!

The Savior came for me.

8 Listen to the words of Christ, your Redeemer, your Lord and your God. Behold, I came into the world not to call the righteous but sinners to repentance; the whole need no physician, but they that are sick; ...
He came to earth for me. I am grateful to know, tho I am not anywhere close to perfect, the celestial kingdom is not an impossibility and due to the Saviors atonement I can be forgiven.

This is a commandment from the Lord, to not fear.

John 14 : 27
27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
One of my missionaries explained to me that Elder Holland stated this was one of the commandments we as Latter Day Saints are guilty of not keeping. .."Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. I love this passage and it has made my life much happier. I choose to let fear go and not hold on to it's familiarity. I'm stepping out into joy.

...tears of rejoicing.

"The Lord compensates the faithful for every loss. That which is taken away from those who love the Lord will be added unto them in His own way. While it may not come at the time we desire, the faithful will know that every tear today will eventually be returned a hundredfold with tears of rejoicing and gratitude."
--Joseph B. Wirthlin
I stole this quote from Kim, but I don't want to ever lose it. I love the every tear part, I have shed a few in sorrow and can not wait for them to be tears of rejoicing !!

Likening the Scriptures.
In the July 2007 issue of the Ensign I found the following words about likening the scriptures to ourselves. One of my missionary pen pals had previously encouraged me to make scripture study a more consistent happening in my daily life, by talking about how his daily study was changing him. And another spoke about making my study not a race to get through them but a true study of the scriptures. I must say that I owe these two 19 year old boys much, for I believe they are the reason I slowed down and began to truly study the scriptures. After that I did begin to liken the scriptures to myself and what I had read to my own personal trials. From there on I can see them as the Lord speaking to me out of the darkness.
"The scriptures are a pure source of spiritual truths. The Lord said, “These words [of scripture] are not of man … but of me” (D&C 31:13). As we lay hold upon the word of God, it is essential that we study the scriptures, and the Book of Mormon should be the centerpiece of our study. The quantity of our study is not as important as the quality. However, it is crucial that we set aside a specific time each day to drink of the “living water” found in the scriptures (see John 4:10–14). Our spirits, like our bodies, need daily nourishment. An occasional scriptural feast with frequent periods of fasting from the word will leave us spiritually malnourished. The Book of Mormon is particularly powerful in providing spiritual sustenance. In fact, its reference to the names or titles of the Savior—an average of once per 1.7 verses—is a clear sign of its highly concentrated spiritual value. In our study, it is essential that we “liken all scriptures unto us” (1 Nephi 19:23). Likening is the process by which we allow the scriptures to transform our character. If our object in studying the scriptures is to enable ourselves to answer questions in Church classes, little lasting benefit will result. Being able to quickly find the scriptural answer to a gospel question is an admirable skill. But of greater worth is to consistently apply the scriptures to our lives and steadily become living scripture. We must daily sup at the table of the Lord, “feasting upon the word of Christ” (2 Nephi 31:20). As we properly assimilate this spiritual food, it will be transformed into Godlike character."

Who am I...

Doctrine & Covenants 122:7
7 And if thou shouldst be cast into the pit, or into the hands of murderers, and the sentence of death passed upon thee; if thou be cast into the deep; if the billowing surge conspire against thee; if fierce winds become thine enemy; if the heavens gather blackness, and all the elements combine to hedge up the way; and above all, if the very jaws of hell shall gape open the mouth wide after thee, know thou, my son, that all these things shall give thee experience, and shall be for thy good.
8 The Son of Man hath descended below them all. Art thou greater than he?
Who am I to wish my trials away, when in the Lord has said they are for my good? Might I endure them better.

THE EPISTLE OF PAUL THE APOSTLE TO THE ROMANS
CHAPTER 12
Paul counsels the saints to present their bodies as a living sacrifice; to use their own grace-given gifts; to live as becometh saints.
1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. 3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. 4 For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office: 5 So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another. 6 Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith;
7 Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching; 8 Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness. 9 Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good. 10 Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another; 11 Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord; 12 Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer; 13 Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality. 14 Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not. 15 Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep. 16 Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits.
17 Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men. 18 If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men. 19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. 20 Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. 21 Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.
This chapter is a great road map of how we can live our lives in Peace and happiness, if we follow Paul's counsel we will be blessed.

Today I remember...

Romans 8: 26-27
26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
When I first found this scripture I felt led to it by the Spirit. In the midst of my trials I was hurting so that I didn't even know what to pray for... I began to think I was deserving of my pain, a ploy the adversary uses when we hurt. My heart was lifted up when I read that, when we are the most desperate is when the Spirit steps in and reads our hearts and utters the words found there in our behalf !! And our Savior intercedes for us !! Today I remember tho my trial may seem to big for my mind to absorb it all, it is not to big for my Father, and he is there as the sun breaking over the mountain tops, of this I testify !!!

Am I truly a follower of Christ?

Romans 2: 28-29
28 For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh:
29 But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.
The Lord tells us that it matters not what we say, it, is not what makes us Christians so much, as it matters what we do and where our hearts are, that makes us Christians and members of his church.

Just when you thought you were lost there is the Lord...

1 O praise the Lord, all ye nations: praise him, all ye people.
2 For his merciful kindness is great toward us: and the truth of the Lord endureth for ever. Praise ye the Lord.
He truly does know just what or who we need in our lives. I can only say Father, Thank You for hearing my prayers yet again. I have never been alone in this trial, I see that now... thank you for the bridge which has brought me here !!!

Great is the worth of souls...

Doctrine & Covenants 18: 10-19
10 Remember the worth of souls is great in the sight of God; 11 For, behold, the Lord your Redeemer suffered death in the flesh; wherefore he suffered the pain of all men, that all men might repent and come unto him. 12 And he hath risen again from the dead, that he might bring all men unto him, on conditions of repentance. 13 And how great is his joy in the soul that repenteth!
14 Wherefore, you are called to cry repentance unto this people. 15 And if it so be that you should labor all your days in crying repentance unto this people, and bring, save it be one soul unto me, how great shall be your joy with him in the kingdom of my Father! 16 And now, if your joy will be great with one soul that you have brought unto me into the kingdom of my Father, how great will be your joy if you should bring many souls unto me! 17 Behold, you have my gospel before you, and my rock, and my salvation. 18 Ask the Father in my name, in faith believing that you shall receive, and you shall have the Holy Ghost, which manifesteth all things which are expedient unto the children of men.
19 And if you have not faith, hope, and charity, you can do nothing.
The Lord is telling us "How great is the worth of souls." Every one we see no matter their situation in life, He loves us all. We can't look at others and decide they would not fit in or accept the gospel, we need to seek out everyone and offer them the gospel. How great will be our joy in the next life with those we share the truth with.

1st Nephi 14:14
And it came to pass that I, Nephi, beheld the power of the Lamb of God, that it descended upon the saints of the church of the Lamb, and upon the covenant people of the Lord, who were scattered upon all the face of the earth; and they were armed with righteousness and with the power of God in great glory.
When I first took notice of this scripture, over a year ago, it helped me to not fear for the Saints (myself included). For tho our numbers are few Father in Heaven is on our side. I heard it said once, "One plus GOD is enough". I am trying to remember this now in this uncertain future we are facing.

The Lords Promises...

D&C 11:6-8
6 Now, as you have asked, behold, I say unto you, keep my commandments, and seek to bring forth and establish the cause of aZion.
7 Seek not for riches but for wisdom; and, behold, the mysteries of God shall be unfolded unto you, and then shall you be made rich. Behold, he that hath eternal life is rich.
8 Verily, verily, I say unto you, even as you desire of me so it shall be done unto you; and, if you desire, you shall be the means of doing much good in this generation.
The Lord promises we can be the means of doing much good in the world if we keep His commandments. He will grant unto us that which we righteously desire. He promises to lead us to do good if we place our trust in Him. He promises to enlighten our minds and fill our souls with joy. I know the Holy ghost is the way He accomplishes this promise. I love giving to others, not because I am any great person, but because I am a "good feelings" junkie !! There is no greater high then bringing joy to another. So I wonder does it negate the good you do when you do it because it makes you happy?

Life is not for the faint of heart...
This blog is for me. I am, as I tell Hill, on an adventure. The next part of my life is a mystery to me. I have no idea where I'm going, for the first time in my adult life. I used to be a planner, not any more, because plans don't always work out, and there is nothing more disheartening than a plan gone wrong. So from here on in it's just me and Hill on an adventure, a journey to where ever life leads.
3 Nephi 18:20
And whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, which is right believeing that ye shall receive behold it shall be given unto you.
The Lord has promised us our righteous desires, I will try no to fear.
